Step #6 – Do I share my News?

How in the world do I tell my relatives and friends what is happening to me? They are going to freak when I say, “Oh by the way, I have a brain tumor. But it’s benign.”

I don’t want to cause others pain or worry. Worse yet, I don’t want their pity. I want their prayers.

I can’t have it both ways. If I want their prayers, they have to know what is happening.

Have you ever hesitated to share bad medical news with others? Why? What’s the worst that can happen?

Dear God,

Please give me the right words to share my news. And the right timing. If you don’t want me to talk about it with someone, make that clear to me, too. Thank you. Amen.

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12:25
