Is it wrong to come right out and ask for healing? I want so very much to ask for healing—without treatment. Sometimes, it seems selfish to pray for myself, for big or little things. It all seems big right now.
I think about Peter walking on the water. One minute he thinks he can, and the next minute his faith falters and he starts to sink. Peter had a lot of faith to leave his comfort zone (the boat) and walk on the water. His faith and his body started to sink when he took his eyes off of Jesus. He saw his circumstances – the waves. The lesson seems to shout, “Keep your focus (and your trust) on Jesus.” Jesus didn’t let Peter drown.

Dear God,
If you want to, you can make me well again—without surgery or radiation. I would love for that to happen. If that isn’t in your
plan for me, then I will ask for acceptance of your will.
Help me to remember you are with me. You are holding my hand – every minute. Amen.
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you want to, you can make me well again,” he said. Moved with pity, Jesus touched him. “I want to,” he said. “Be healed!” Mark 1:40-41
